French Interns at Department of Materials Engineering

Anthony Fournié and Aurélie Insou have been performing their internships since 18 June for a two month stint at our Department of Materials Engineering. Both interns are 4th year students at ENSIL in Limoges, France.

Anthony is doing research into conductive materials from benzoxazine, under the supervision of Dr Apirat Laobuthee. This involves synthesis of a monomer and its reaction with metal salts, followed by studying the conductivity after polymerization. Aurélie is performing research of pervious (permeable) geopolymers before draining, under the guidance of Dr Duangrudee Chaysuwan. She prepares these geopolymers from raw materials such as fly ash.
